Specialized Training and Experience

Dr. Manfredi received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University in 2009. As part of her graduate training, she completed concentrations in school psychology and neuropsychology. She completed an APA-accredited internship through Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, with rotations at a private practice in neuropsychology in Bryn Mawr, PA and in the Department of Neurology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in north Philadelphia. Following completion of her doctoral studies, Dr. Manfredi completed a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Autism Research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she was a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) fellow. After completing her fellowship and getting licensed as a psychologist, she took a faculty position at Chestnut Hill College, where she developed a post-bachelor’s certificate program focused on adults with autism spectrum disorders, taught classes on autism spectrum disorders and the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders in the master’s and doctoral psychology departments, and served as the Training Director for the APA-accredited doctoral internship consortium. While at Chestnut Hill College, Dr. Manfredi also remained active in clinical work, serving as a consultant to Cora Services, Green Tree School and Services, and a program providing evaluation services to military families. After leaving her academic position, she worked as the Director of Clinical Research for the Selective Mutism Research Institute/SMart Center.  Dr. Manfredi then worked as a psychologist for the AJ Drexel Autism Institute at Drexel University, where she completed 4-6 autism spectrum disorder evaluations per week for children ages 3-6 referred by early intervention programs in Philadelphia. She opened Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Consulting, LLC in 2015 and have been in private practice full-time since 2019. Dr. Manfredi continually updates her knowledge and skills through continuing education activities (often in excess of minimal requirements to maintain her license), ongoing reviews of research studies and literature, and preparation of informative webinars and learning activities for both public and professional audiences.

Outside of work, Dr. Manfredi can be found spending time with her family, including her husband and two children, working out, dancing, or reading. She is the parent to a child who was born premature, as well as a child with Down Syndrome. As such, Dr. Manfredi is acutely aware of the strengths and challenges facing individuals and families affected by neurodevelopmental conditions, which allows her to approach her evaluation and consultation activities with a level of empathy, understanding, and knowledge that only results from personal experience. Her professional approach, informed and shaped by these personal experiences, values the dignity and abilities of all people.
