Exceptional Students. Empowered Families. Meaningful Academic Progress.
As a parent, you are your child’s primary educator and caregiver. You know your child’s strengths, challenges, interests, capabilities, and expectations. When your child has special educational needs, however, you can be thrust into the role of advocate, often without any preparation. It can be overwhelming to sift through evaluation reports full of clinical jargon and statistical tables; research curricula, programs, or teaching strategies that can help your child; educate yourself about special education processes and procedures; determine what types of accommodations or curriculum modifications your child needs; or analyze various educational placements and programs to determine what best fits your child and your family. You may sit in meeting after meeting surrounded by professionals, feeling unsure if their recommendations are suited for your child’s unique needs but unsure what other options there are. You may have questions that go unanswered or concerns that go unaddressed. You may be wondering if a different type of educational setting might better suit your family but feel unsure where to start looking into alternative options.
We started Neurodevelopmental Education Solutions to provide educational consultation services to support families and students with special educational needs. Our consultants have many years of experience working with families, working in or consulting with schools, and evaluating student needs in order to develop individualized educational programming recommendations. Our goal is for parents, families, and students with special educational needs themselves to thoroughly understand their strengths and needs in the educational setting and empower them to make educational decisions and plans that fit with their goals, values, and abilities. We believe that all children should receive a high-quality education that allows them to make meaningful academic progress and to lead satisfying and fulfilling lives.
In alignment with this mission, Neurodevelopmental Education Solutions offers the following education consultation services/packages (please note: as psychologists, we specialize in providing the following services for students who primarily have learning differences or disabilities, developmental delays/intellectual disabilities, cognitive differences, or attention/executive function difficulties. We do not have expertise in sensory, physical, or motor disabilities and would refer you to the appropriate professional to consult with on those issues):
